The group has two warehouses located in Auckland New Zealand, and

HISTORY
BEGINNINGS
Fluidconnectors was founded in 1987, importing and marketing hydraulic
fittings from Oreri Point New Zealand. Fluidconnectors quickly grew and in 2000,
established offices in shared premises in Newark Place, East Auckland.
In 2001, Fluidconnectors obtained its first CNC lathe, allowing the company
to manufacture fittings and thereby provide customers with enhanced levels of response,
whilst reducing dependency on imported products. Adding United States customers
to its base, the company went from strength to strength.
Continued growth saw Fluidconnectors moving to Lorien Place, East Tamaki,
Auckland in 2002. This year also saw Fluid Connectors absorb Gulf Manufacturing - an
established manufacturing company with a product mix biased heavily towards hydraulic
equipment. Fluidconnectors expanded its manufacturing capability, with added
plant and products.
AUSTRALIAN OPERATION
In late 2003, more plant was added and in April 2004 Fluidconnectors expanded
into Australia, opening an office in Perth, Western Australia.
In November 2005, Fluidconnectors added two state of the art Bar Feed
CNC Lathe’s to its plant and moved from its cramped location in Lorien Place to its
current New Zealand location, 3D Smales Road, East Tamaki, Auckland.
Having had to utilise outsourced storage for much of its raw materials,
Fluidconnectors was able to centralise its complete New Zealand business,
manufacturing and warehousing in one building, close to key infrastructure and suppliers.
This year also saw the company, commission Production Plus manufacturing software,
further enhancing the factory’s responsiveness through better tracking, planning and
management of the manufacturing process.
In June 2006, Fluidconnectors’ Australian business had expanded to the level
that required it to move from sub-let premises to its own warehouse facility.
Now located at Unit 11/ 69-73 Hector Street, Osborne Park, Fluidconnectors is
offering and providing unparalleled service to the whole of the Australian market place.
Continued growth lead to the decision to double the size of these premises. The new
expanded premises were finished in late 2008.
2009 has seen Fluidconnectors add a wide range of DIN2353 Metric Tube Fittings
to its product offering. This new line of product has seen substaintial sales growth.
After entering into consultation with a number of potential customers for these new parts,
Fluidconnectors identified that customers preferred to purchase tubefittings with
nuts and sleeves (olives or cutting rings) as optional components (customers indicated
that they had excessive stocks of unused nuts and sleeves). Having met this
customer preference, we have seen sales of this new range of product growing rapidly.
2009 has also seen the implementation of the online stock enquiry system for key customers,
offering clients another option for stock purchasing.
